This is an amazing aerospace museum that was recently expanded with FREE admission! Just about any type of plane you can imagine and some of the old nuclear missile technology. The museum is staffed by volunteers, many of whom are veterans and can tell you lots about the history and specs of the planes.
There will be traditional Bavarian food, music, dancing, and vendors for lots of fun! Admission to Oktoberfest is FREE. Oktoberfest runs every SATURDAY and SUNDAY from Noon - 6 pm.
Snowbird’s Oktoberfest attracts thousands of visitors each year, making it one of the largest festivals in Utah. Snowbird is just 40 minutes south of Salt Lake City.
Come for an exhilarating ziplining experience in Sundance, Utah where the drops are over 2,100 feet (the most anywhere in the US) and speeds get up to 70mph! The Ziplines are open until October 8th, after which they close for the season. This is a fun experience and the Alpine fall colors will amaze you! :)
The scenic Park City has an alpine slide, a family friendly activity, that takes you on more than a mile of loops and curves at speeds up to 25mph. After the slide, feel free to explore the beauty around Park City.
Note: Park City itself is a "ritzy" place and so prices for boutiques and restaurants are higher than normal.
Be sure to check if they are open while you are here before you go. Kennecott Copper Mine is one of the biggest in the world and is visible to the naked eye from an astronaut in space!
If you want to enjoy some mall-shopping or grab a quick coffee nearby, the City Creek Center is perfect! Nice restaurants here too like the Cheesecake Factory if you are looking for a date night! ;)
If you can't find what you are looking for at City Creek, come to the Gateway where they have the Clark Planetarium (if you are into science) amongst other attractions.
The Bonneville Salt Flats (where Jay and Erika did their engagement photos) are a unique landscape in Utah where some of the world's fastest car speed records have been set. It's a super flat basin made of salt with mountains surrounding you. Sunsets are beautiful for photos - here's a link to sunset times you can lookup for October...https://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com/ut/tooele-county/bonneville-salt-flats-state-park.html
It is very dry, you will need to bring water to hydrate and shoes that you don't mind washing out. We recommend washing your shoes with water immediately after you leave to prevent your shoes from cracking due to the extreme salt environment.
Lots of things to do - just make sure to check their hours before you go!
