CAUTION

If hiking outdoors or stopping along a drive at one of the national forests, please be vigilant against dangerous wildlife. We have a lot of mountain lions and rattlesnakes in the area in addition to bears. Please do not hike alone - go in a group of at least 2 or 3 and make noise as you hike. Carry bear spray (can get at Walmart or Cabela's stores) and a trail map in addition to a flashlight and extra water bottle in case you get lost. Most of the time there is no cell reception on trails. For more safety info, please see the following websites: MOUNTAIN LION: https://www.nps.gov/articles/mountain-lion-safety.htm BEARS: https://www.nps.gov/subjects/bears/safety.htm RATTLESNAKES: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5393596.pdf

It's a super flat basin made of salt with mountains surrounding you. Sunsets are beautiful for photos - here's a link to sunset times you can lookup for October...https://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com/ut/tooele-county/bonneville-salt-flats-state-park.html
